Shop/wine
critic/winery review: Firm and
structured, this is a solid wine, laced with mineral acidity and tight tannins.
It has a juicy, blackberry fruit component cutting through the texture.
My review: You
can smell the tannins, I’m not sure that’s actually what’s coming through or
the smell just makes me think of styles heavy on the tannins. Either way I’m
not please and rather nervous to try it. There’s a slight wiff of berry coming
though the tannin. It’s got a strange woodish aftertaste. Not vanilla or any of
the aged in barrel kind of taste, more as if there’s actually rotten pieces of
wood floating in it. Teeny jam like experience before the wood and tannins take
over.
CONCLUSION: Would
not drink again.
Not tasted with food
