Tasting-Beltrame Frirlano Tocai Friulano (white)-

Name: Beltrame Frirlano
Variety: Tocai Friulano
Region: Friuli
Country: Italy
Year: 2009
Price: $15

Shop/wine critic/winery review: 100% Tocai Friulano Straw-coloured yellow with a pale green tint express an intense, delicately aromatic and floral bouquet. The flavour is dry, soft, slightly fruity, with slightly bitter nuance in its almond aftertaste, and suggestion of peach.

My review: It smells like spoiled flowers. I’m not sure if that’s a thing but that’s what I’m getting. It’s a sort of sweet but gone off aroma. There’s also a hint of honey lurking behind the rotten petals. The texture is creamy. The taste is acidic with the barest hint of sweet. There’s a very odd aftertaste. Sort of pollen like, and it lingers for quite some time.

CONCLUSION: Would not drink again.
